Isildur1 Reaches All Time Low at Full Tilt Poker
December 3, 2009
It didn’t take long for Isildur1 to win huge amounts of money from Tom “durrrr” Dwan. For a short while the anonymous Swede was up over $6 million at Full Tilt Poker. But the bad news for Isildur1 is that it went even faster to lose all of the money back again, and more.
In just two days Isildur1 managed to lose $5 million according to highstakesdb.com. This means that he has now lost all of the previous winnings back and is now at a loss in total at Full Tilt Poker.
According to Highstakesdb.com he is now at a $1.2 million loss since he entered the high stakes tables at FullTilt. This is a couple of hundred thousand lower than he was just before his major rush against durrrr started. That was about a month ago and now it remains to be seen if Isildur1 will manage to turn this around one more time before going completely busto.
A lot of people at different poker forums are saying that this was the only possible outcome while others still seem to think that he will manage to turn this bad trend around once again.
One thing is for sure though, if he want’s to have any chance of becoming a winning player once more then he really needs to work on his PLO tilt which is costing him a fortune at the moment.
Viktor Blom is NOT Isildur1
December 2, 2009
The speculations are many when it comes to figuring out who is hiding behind the alias Isildur1 at Full Tilt Poker. At the various poker forums the guesses have been everything from Todd Brunson to “maratonas“, but the most common guess has been Viktor Blom. Two days ago we reported that Tony G actually went out and told all his blog readers that he knew for a fact that Isildur1 is Viktor Blom.
However it looks like the speculations can start again as Viktor Blom told Bluff Europe that he is NOT Isildur1.
In an interview with the magazine he said:
I am not the one you are looking for, keep trying.
It is doubtful if we will ever get to know who is actually hiding behind this alias as that person probably does not want the Swedish government to know he is raking in big wins playing online poker.

PokerStars to Launch Mobile Poker Software
December 1, 2009
The worlds largest poker room PokerStars.com will soon be available in a version for your mobile phone as they have bought up Cecure Gaming who are developing games for mobile phones.
No official statements have been made by PokerStars regarding the launch of a mobile poker software but when reading between the lines it does look as if they have plans on entering the mobile market.
The reason for the recent speculation about a mobile PokerStars software is the fact that they have bought up Cecure Gaming who are a mobile games developer. Due to the financial climate there has not been as much money to be made in the mobile games market but back in 2000 they got $20 million to develop the best and most secure mobile poker room.
Since this company is now being owned by online poker giant PokerStars is is not too far fetched to believe that they will be launching their own mobile poker room.
More to expect when it comes to UIGEA Regulations
December 1, 2009
News has it that the implementation process of the UIGEA/Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act regulations has been delayed once again. The US Treasury Department is expected to delay the operation of regulations that will necessitate banks to stop online poker and the other gambling procedure via credit cards.
The UIGEA was passed in October 2006 when it started categorising some forms of online gambling making them illegal. Some forms of gambling such as such as horse racing and state lotteries have been exempted from this but the others started to suffer.
It was said initially that the banks and other financial institutions had a limit set that by the 1st of December, 2009 to comply with the UIGEA rules but bit by bit, the new guidelines have dwindled into nothing with bank wires and checks barely being mentioned as part of UIGEA.
The PPA/Poker Players Alliance is the force behind this delay as they have been fighting and lobbying very strongly against these regulations to appear. This seems to have worked as now the delay is final and it seems like it will take another 6 months for any real regulations to kick in. The delay is in fact expected as we wait eagerly for Barney Frank’s office to release a solid statement this week.
Patrik Antonius Losing BIG at Full Tilt Poker
November 30, 2009
2009 has been a great year for Patrik Antonius but the last week must have been one of the worst in his career. Since Wednesday last week he is down $3.7 million.
Antonius is one of the few players who is winning against Isildur1 lately but against the other high stakes players on the network he has not been as fortunate.
Between the 26th and 29th of November he has been losing $3.7 million at FullTilt. Most of this money have been lost to Ziigmund and Isildur1.
Even though this is a huge loss for him he is still up $5.8 million for the year.
Is Viktor Blom Isildur1 at Full Tilt Poker?
November 30, 2009
Online poker player Isildur1 have created a huge interest for the high stakes games at Full Tilt Poker. The pots that are currently being played are bigger than ever and this Swedish phenomenon has been winning and losing pots of over $1 million. But even a month after he made his entrance at Full Tilt it is still not 100% clear who is hiding behind this nickname at Full Tilt even though there has been a lot of speculation lately.
One of the names that have come up a lot lately when the identity of Isildur1 is being discussed is Viktor Blom and now Tony G. have gone public in his blog and stated that Isildur1 is in fact Viktor Blom from Sweden.
This is what Tony G. wrote in his blog:
I don’t want to talk too much about Isildur1 but I can reveal to all it is Viktor and he crushed them on the iPoker network for some time. I actually played a few hands with him today and quite many on iPoker where my site TonyG Poker runs. I honestly respect this guy 100%. He has proved that he is the best player in the game right now; this is based on many, many hands on iPoker and Full Tilt Poker.
Tony G failed to mention how he can be sure that Isildur1 is in fact Viktor Blom so here at Online Poker News we still have our doubts.
Do you think Tony G is right or is someone else hiding behind the Isildur1 alias? Feel free to leave a comment with your guess.
Ziigmund in verbal fight with Isildur1 at Full Tilt Poker
November 30, 2009
We guess it’s not a big secret that Ziigmund and Isuldur1 are not the best of friends. But lately the verbal fights between these two high stakes players have been getting to the point where they would censored on main stream poker news sites, fortunately for you, we are not one of those sites.
A couple of days ago when these two players clashed once more at the Full Tilt Poker high stakes tables Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies ended up winning $1.5 million from Isildur1 over just 600 hands and after that he simply left the table without warning. A couple of days later they were playing against each other again and started trash talking in the table chat. Isildur1 thinks Ziigmund is a limping hit and runner while Ziigmund is sure that Isildur1 will not last the duration of 2009 at FullTilt the way he is playing.
Here are the most interesting parts of the chat:
Isildur1: who s the little scared fa g starts lipimg every hand cos hes up
Isildur1: fckn clown
Ziigmund: how long u have been around here
Ziigmund: u r losing after this year if u continue f ag
Isildur1: well see, u keep hit n run me and limping
Ziigmund: haha
Ziigmund: nono
It remains to be seen if Isildur1 can prove Ziigmund wrong and still have funds in his account on the 1st of January 2010.
Maltese Police authorities take over from the LGA and look into inactive poker rooms online
November 26, 2009
It has been reported that the Maltese police are currently investigating into various non-operational online poker rooms. These rooms are namely; BetOnBet, Eurolinx and Linx Casino. The 3 companies had shut down their operation in Malta after the mother company Linx Media Company had been liquidated.
Meanwhile, the regular players have made their complaints and negative comments about this whole situation. Many made losses when these operations shut down and the Lotteries and Gaming Authority Malta was contacted to investigate into this.
As highlighted in their website, the investigations of the LGA so far have been leading to many irregularities that were discovered such as; “Eurolinks Ltd is not and has never been a licensed operator with the LGA. The LGA also notifies that the sportsbooks of Alpine Malta Ltd (BetOnBet and Eurolinx) are not and were never licensed by the LGA. “
LGA stated that the Alpine Malta Ltd possessed a Class 1/4 and Class 3/4 licences for BetOnBet, but these licences were suspended a while ago. The investigations have now been moved from the LGA to the higher police authorities who will continue looking into this.
Ivey and Antonius Crushing Isildur1 at Full Tilt Poker
November 23, 2009
Isildur1 took a hard beating from Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius on the high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker. During one single session the anonymous Swede lost over $3 million which means that his big profit from before is almost completely gone.
Patrik Antonius was the one that took the biggest slice of the Isildur1 pie and made a total profit of over $2 million during the session. Phil Ivey was also pretty successful and managed to make a $1 million profit during this same session.
On the Swedish poker forums and on TwoPlusTwo there is a lot of speculation about Isildur1. Many seem to think that this is the beginning of the end for the Swedish high stakes player. He is currently being compared to another Swede who made a short appearance at the high stakes tables a couple of months ago, Maratonas.
Isildur1’s total profit since he started playing at FullTilt is now down at only $750.000 so it seems he needs to find his way back on a new hot streak or he will be broke within the next couple of days.
One thing that is being brought up a lot in the different online poker forums is that Isildur1 should avoid playing these high stakes poker pro’s at the same time and he should probably try to focus on playing No Limit Texas Hold’em instead of Pot Limit Omaha.
Our guess is that Isildur1 will be completely broke within the next couple of days. If he is still around at FullTilt Poker during December we would be very surprised.
