VMA’s show said to be taken by storm with Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”
September 12, 2009
Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” the chart topper hit has been nominated for many music awards at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards that will take place this Sunday on MTV. The Poker Face song is taken from GaGa’s debut album The Fame.
One of these awards is the Video of the Year award with many aspiring to get the award by showing off sexy poses and bodies. The video was also famous for the MTV forced omission of the word muffin, as this was originally present in the original lyrics and then omitted due its offensive meaning.
Lady Gaga is definitely one of these artists who go overboard; predominantly with her over the top videos and sexy outfits. Sexy and elaborate dance moves that might come across as forced. Ms. GaGa might go over the top during video production but no one can deny her excellent voice and live acoustic performances.
On the other hand, fellow nominee Beyonce with her song “Single Ladies” gives off a natural sex appeal, onstage and on video. Both artists are heavily nominated artists this year and will battle it out on the final night for the big award.
The show will be pod casted on MTV as per annual schedule.
Isabelle Mercier kicked out of Team PokerStars?
September 11, 2009
During EPT Barcelona it was announced that Isabelle Mercier no longer represents PokerStars as a member of Team PokerStars. It is still unclear if she got kicked off the team or if she quit herself.
It was during the European Poker Tour event in Barcelona that a live commentator “leaked” the information that Mercier was no longer a part of Team PokerStars.
Since the poker sites do not want to give out information regarding the contracts they have with the players we will probably never really get to know the reason behind this seperation.
It will be interesting to see where Mercier will end up next. It could be that she goes straight over to the main competitor Full Tilt Poker as a member of Team FullTilt.

Tom Dwan Loses $900K in one session
September 8, 2009
Tom “durrrr” Dwan is one of the players who are playing at the highest stakes available on the internet. So far he has been very successful doing this but on Thursday he ended up in the red after a very bad session.
Just a couple of days ago Tom Dwan was winning most of the sessions against Patrik Antonius and he almost managed to get back to even in the “Durrrr Challenge“. But outside the challenge it has been hard times for Dwan at the tables. Last Thursday he had a very bad session and ended up losing $900.000 for the day after having played just 1071 hands.
At the same time the Swedish high stakes player DIN_FRU a very strange session where he played only 3 hands and lost $500.
Gus Hansen who has been running bad since forever continued to lose money and he finished the day $178.000 in the red after only 125 hands played.
A player who was more fortunate on the other hand was Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies who managed to win $443.000. It might have been the day of the Finnish players as we can also report that Patrik Antonius ended up with a healthy profit.
If you want to watch these players battle it out on the highest stakes in online poker every day then we suggest you create an account at Full Tilt Poker using the FullTilt referral code TILTEDBONUS which will give you access to watch all of these games for free.

Gus Hansen moves down in levels
September 7, 2009
Gus Hansen have lost huge amounts playing online poker this year. Now it looks like he is moving down in levels to try to get his bankroll back to his former glory.
Gus, who is a Full Tilt Poker pro is playing at the highest level you can find on the internet and he is used to the huge swings that comes with it. But now it seems as if the Dane needs a bit more money to feel comfortable playing against players like Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey at the really high stakes tables. Or it could just be that his bankroll is no longer big enough to justify playing at the higher stakes.
The reason behind this speculation is that today when a member of Online Poker News logged on the their FullTilt account to join the rail birds at the high stakes tables he was very surprised to find Gus Hansen playing at the $50/$100 No Limit Hold’em tables instead of his usual $300/$600 limits. It seems as the move down in levels might have been a good move by Gus because while we were watching him play he actually managed to win most of the big hands in which he participated.
Hopefully Gus will manage to turn his bad trend around on these lower limits or else he might be heading the same road as the Swedish player “Maratonas” who after winning over a million at FullTilt in a week managed to lose it all back and more.
So far this year Gus is stuck $2.3 million playing online poker at the FullTilt high stakes tables.
“Durrrr” Wins the Latest Session of the durrrr Challenge
September 4, 2009
The famous durrrr Challenge is moving forward at a pretty slow pace. The last session was won by Tom “durrrr” Dwan. But if the challenge was to end today the winner would be Patrik Antonius by a very small margin.
The durrrr Challenge is a challenge created by Tom Dwan to the poker world (excluding Phil Galfond) that will last over 50.000 hands. Just a couple of weeks ago this challenge was basically dead as there were very few, if any sessions being played. But lately there has been a lot more action at Full Tilt Poker between Dwan and his first challenger Patrik Antonius.
Earlier in the challenge it was “durrrr” who had a safe and secure lead but after the last couple of sessions the tables have turned and Antonius is now in very small lead. The small lead got even smaller after Dwan won last nights session that lasted for 3 hours with 458 hands being played.
In last nights session durrrr managed to win $26K from Patrik Antonius who is still holding a tiny overall lead as mentioned earlier in this article. But you still have to keep in mind that less than half of the challenge has been played so there are still a lot of hot and cold streaks for both players to go through before the durrrr Poker Challenge is over.
