Play Texas Hold’em with Live Dealers at DublinBet
November 20, 2009
Tired of the same old style of online poker that you find everywhere nowadays? Then you should definately try out to play the live dealer Texas Hold’em at Dublinbet.com. This type of online poker does not work like the ones you have gotten used to at poker rooms like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Instead of playing against other players from all over the world you will be playing against a live dealer as this is the casino game version of Texas Hold’em Poker. Even though this game require a lot less skill than the regular Texas Hold’em games you will still have a good edge if you know the good starting hands.
Unfortunately US players are not allowed to join the DublinBet Casino and try out this live dealer casino game but for those of you who live in other countries there is a 100 Euro new player bonus available when joining this casino that will be instantly added to your account balance upon your first deposit.
At DublinBet they are also offering other casino games with live dealers, so if you enjoy playing Blackjack, Baccarat or Roulette then we can really recommend trying out DublinBet as you know they games are not rigged there.
Full Tilt Poker Closing in on PokerStars
November 20, 2009
PokerStars are promoting themselves as the biggest poker site in the world and there is no doubt they are the biggest. The second largest online poker site is Full Tilt Poker, the gap between these two sites is pretty big at the moment but lately Full Tilt have started to get closer in terms of traffic on their site.
According to the poker traffic site PokerScout.com PokerStars currently have 27.600 cash game players online on average while Full Tilt Poker has 16.400.But on Monday this week the numbers for PokerStars were 26.695 while Full Tilt had 21.180 cash game players online. That’s a difference of about 5.000 players.
Even though 5.000 players are a lot this still shows that FullTilt Poker are closing in on the giant PokerStars.com. If these numbers keep up Full Tilt might be able to become the largest poker site one of these days. If poker becomes regulated and legalized in the US a lot of things can change over night just like we saw when the UIGEA was introduced back in 2006. Before the UIGEA was introduced PartyPoker had a 50% market share in USA. And once poker becomes legal in the States again they will surely want to start competing with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker again.
UltimateBet becomes UB.com
November 20, 2009
For as long as UltimateBet has been in business they have always been referred to as UB. This is why UltimateBet.com is now being re-branded to UB.com with a completely new logo. The people at UltimateBet have also taken the opportunity to pimp up their poker software a bit for this re-launch of their brand.
“The launch of UB.com represent a turning point for our company. We have collected a big group of professionals that are passionate about poker to build or new UB brand. Our goal is to create products and services that poker players really want, said Paul Leggert.
” I have been involved with UltimateBet for 10 years now and I have never been more proud to represent the company. I look forward to the day when we are the biggest poker site on this planet, said Phil Hellmuth.
Here at Online Poker News we have our doubts that UB.com will ever become the biggest poker sites on this planet. Even though they are changing their name people will never forget about the superuser scandal that took place there and at Absolute Poker.
When trying to visit the new UB.com website we are currently being redirected to the old address at UltimateBet.com but they are probably going to start using the UB.com address in the coming weeks.

Antonius Takes the Biggest Online Pot Ever from Full Tilt High-Stakes Mystery Player
November 17, 2009
Last week the online poker community perked up when a new name was introduced in the otherwise elite and tight-knit online high-stakes poker “club” at Full Tilt Poker. Sweden’s “Isildur1” is otherwise an unknown newcomer to hit the high-stakes tables at Full Tilt, taking more than $3 million from Tom “durrrr” Dwan in one week. Dwan, who is the newest Full Tilt Poker Pro, has taken heed and invited “Isildur1” to join him at a high-stakes poker match in Mayfair, London at the Les Ambassadeurs Club for next week’s Million Dollar Challenge.
Dwan says of the mystery player, “We have had some tough games over the last few days and the action just keeps on coming. I hope he can make it to London for the challenge so we can play some high stakes live games as well.”
Fast forward one week later and “Isildur1” appears again at Full Tilt’s $500/$1000 heads-up deep PL Omaha tables; this time the mystery player is up against Patrik Antonius, another powerful player of high-stakes online poker. But “Isildur1” was no match for Antonius, as in the wee hours of the morning the biggest pot to ever go down in the history of online poker was taken by Antonius. A massive $878,958.50 pot was scooped out from under “Isildur1,” which could technically be considered part of the money he took from Dwan over the past week.
So the saga continues, as the big shots of online poker swap millions of dollars back and forth day in and day out. It’s usually Antonius, Dwan, Phil Ivey, and a handful of others, but now there’s a new player in the ring, and he (or she) is sparking the attention of the online poker community.
Until early Tuesday morning, the largest online poker pot was from a hand involving Dwan and Di “Urindanger” Dang back in October of last year. The record stood for a little more than a year, but knowing Dwan, he will likely want to take that title back, as at times these guys seem to just be in it to outdo each other. For them, it’s about more than the money.
It will be interesting to hear about the live matchup between Dwan and “Isildur1,” as the mystery unfolds and more is learned about this stranger among us.
Good Weekend for Isildur1: $1.8 Million Profit
November 16, 2009
Last weekend was a pretty decent one for Swedish online poker player Isildur1. After completing sessions against players like Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, Brian Townsend and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies he ended up making a $1.8 million profit over the weekend.
The player who took the biggest hit at the high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker was Patrik Antonius who saw his bankroll decrease by $1.560.209. Tom “Durrrr” Dwan is having a huge downswing lately and he is still running bad against Isildur1 and recorded a loss of $800.000 last weekend.
In total during the last week Isildur1 logged a healthy profit of $5.723.944 after having played a total of 218 sessions. Since he started playing at Full Tilt Poker his total profit is now $5.04 million which makes him the second biggest winner at FullTilt over the whole year.

Everest Poker Celebrates their WSOP Victory
November 13, 2009
Antoine Saout was one of the 2009 November Nine players. He is also the first player to represent Everest Poker to ever make it to the final table of the WSOP Main Event which gives the online poker room reason to celebrate.
Saout did not manage to make it all the way to victory at the final table but just to be one of the final nine players of the WSOP main event is a great achievement. For the online poker site Everest Poker it was an even greater success as Saout qualified via their satellites and was wearing their clothing at the final table which is the best kind of advertising you can get in the poker world.
At the final table Saout knocked out Jeff Schulman and manged to finish better than the poker star Phil Ivey.
At Everest Poker they are starting to celebrate this as from today with a series of freerolls in the honor of Antoine Saout.
This is what Everest Poker had to say in their weekly newsletter:
Starting the on the 12th of November we are going to celebrate Antoine Saout’s achievment in the 2009 WWSOP during a whole week. Antoine’s win is also a win for you, win extra money by playing in our $1000 “Congratulations Antoine” freerolls every day at 19:00 GMT.
For those of you who did not get a chance to make it to the World Series of Poker this year we suggest that you check out this 2010 WSOP schedule and start planning for next year. The Cake Poker Network are soon going to start their WSOP satellites for next year so make sure to have your account ready.
