The PokerStars Dream Job Australia is a one-year contract to represent Poker Stars at many of the various events of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT). The contract comes with a $5,000 per month “salary” plus $40,000 to spend on buy-ins for whichever ANZPT events you choose. That brings the total worth of the Dream Job Australia prize package to $100,000.

In order to win this honor, you must excel in both online tournament poker and self-promotion, for part of the contest is an online poker tournament series while the other part is campaigning for the support of your online poker playing peers around the world.

The online poker tournament part of the PokerStars Dream Job Australia contest starts March 1 and includes daily freeroll tournaments Saturdays through Thursdays up through and including March 26. Every Friday during that period, Poker Stars will hold weekly final tournaments. The top 18 players from each of these weekly final tournaments will then meet on Saturday March 27th for a big Grand Final.

From here, the popularity contest begins. Because the top 10 finishers from the Grand Final will head to Sydney, Australia where they will be quizzed on their knowledge of poker and be introduced to the Australian Team PokerStars pros. Over the 6 weeks that follow, the finalists will post blogs and Facebook posts and Twitters posts (Tweets) to try and convince the most number of players to turn out for a PokerStars tournament in their honor. Ten such tournaments will be held, one for each finalist, and the one that attracts the most entrants is declared the winner of the PokerStars Dream Job Australia.
